Social

1. Connection with like-minded functional professionals at different stages of their careers

2. Regular meetings on various topics (clinical and business-related)

3. Collaboration opportunities

4. Referral network

5. Friendships

Social connection is a critical human need. Most of us find this in our friends, family, and local communities, which are all very good and appropriate. But regardless of your social network, it can be quite isolating to be a functional health professional trying to operate a solo practice. It is such a unique experience that few people can relate to.

Like-Minded Connections

At FHP, we believe that the social connections our members are able to create are one of the priceless benefits of their membership. To have direct access to colleagues who either have been or are currently going through the same things you are is such a treasure.

Meetings

Furthermore, we hold regular meetings throughout the week that provide opportunities to connect with one another. We strive to stay alert to the key issues that our members are interested in and create topic-based meetings that stimulate brainstorming and discussion. Sometimes the information or ideas gained in one of these meetings can be the key element that really solves a problem - clinical or business-related - for someone.

Collaborations & Referrals

As our membership grows, we will have an expanding diversity of interests, talents, and specialties. These will provide referral sources that we can all benefit from. For example, many of our clinicians appreciate having health coaches to refer to. Others who aren't particularly interested in the more complex conditions such as Lyme and mold will be able to recommend their patient to a colleague who is building such a practice. Indeed, the referral network that organically develops will be a benefit to patients and clinicians alike.

Friendships

Finally, friendships at work are essential for creating a sense of fulfullment and well-being. Most of us do not relish the idea of sitting in an isolated room on a computer all day, working in a solo practice. But, when we have regular opportunities to build friendships and collaborate with people we know and care about, suddenly the day becomes something we look forward to with excitement. And this is what we hope it will be for each of our members as they develop social connection with each other.
